The German manufacturer Quantum Systems is developing the Sparta in Ukraine, a drone capable of carrying and launching multiple FPV models during flight.

The project is in the prototype phase, but the company plans to begin mass production in the country by the end of the year, according to the local director, Oleksandr Berezhnyi.

The equipment, which resembles a glider with a “V” tail and rear electric rotor, has attachment points for cargo on both sides of the wings and can operate with modular payloads, including other drones and sensors. This configuration allows it to function both as a launch base and as a reconnaissance platform, significantly extending the range of smaller drones.

Launched by catapult and with conventional landing, the Sparta has an estimated autonomy of six to eight hours and a range of up to 200 kilometers, carrying up to 8 kg of payload with a maximum takeoff weight of 23 kg.

Quantum Systems has already demonstrated agility in local production, starting the manufacture of the Twister drone in Ukraine just four months after its unveiling.
